My mailbox email won't create tickets when I email from it. Why?

I'm trying to create a ticket by emailing from my support email address into my support address. Meaning, i am emailing from support@mycompany.com into support@mycompany.com. (Note: support@mycompany.com is a mailbox in my help desk) and no ticket is being created.
The above situation will NOT create a ticket by design. This is to avoid a loop of emails that would create an endless loop of emails back and forth.
Instead, use another email address that is NOT a mailbox in your help desk.
