How do I create an SPF record to ensure that my emails are delivered properly?

On top of setting up your own custom support email, it's recommended and sometimes required to create a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record within your domain name registar to ensure proper delivery of your emails and to avoid SPAM filters.  It's also highly recommended to also set a DKIM and return path record.

This can be setup quickly by modifying your DNS settings in your domain name registar.

Note: These instructions can vary depending on your registrar.

Here are the general instructions on setting up a SPF record:

Step 1. Log in to your domain registrar's website

Step 2. Open your DNS configuration settings

Step 3. Edit your ZONE File and specifically look for a TXT or SPF record

Step 4. Specify the following value: v=spf1 a mx include:spf.mtasv.net ~all

Step 5. Save your changes

If you by chance already have another SPF record setup, you can include the new SPF record on the same line as the other(s):
v=spf1 include:spf1.domain.com include:spf2.domain2.com include:v=spf1 a mx include:spf.mtasv.net ~alll

You should now be all set to send emails safely from your Cayzu Helpdesk portal.  If you do need more specific instructions, we have listed some common registrar's instructions below:

Bluehost
Godaddy
Namecheap
Network Solutions
